Starbucks releases frozen Christmas tree bevy for the holidays

Every year, Starbucks rolls out a new drink for the holiday season, and on Wednesday, the coffee giant unveiled the 2017 concoction: the Christmas Tree Frappuccino, a blended drink with toppings that actually make it look like a decorated Christmas tree.

The Christmas Tree Frapp starts with a peppermint-mocha blended crème base that's topped with a fluffy green tree made from matcha whipped cream. The whipped cream is then drizzled with a caramel "garland" and sprinkled with candied cranberry "ornaments". This won't have as long a run as the peppermint mocha or gingerbread latte: It's available only between December 7 and December 11, and only in the USA and Canada.

The festive Christmas Tree Frappuccino looks just like the Fraser Fir in your living room, minus the presents, the mess, and the inability to drink it. I want one so badly, ' wrote one excited fan.

But if you like mint-chocoaltely things, you only have a few days to try this new drink.

The Christmas Tree Frappuccino is advertised has containing 50 grams of sugar in the 16-ounce "Grande" cup; 4 grams less than October's "zombie brains" drink. The Frappuccino base, although not particularly Christmas-coloured, tasted like pure peppermint-chocolate bliss.

The "Christmas Tree" elements of the Frappuccino come into play with the green Matcha whipped cream.

In April, Starbucks had a whirlwind success with the Unicorn Frappuccino, a sweet, color-changing drink that quickly went viral on Instagram.
