Three People and One Dog Killed in Franklin County Plane Crash

The pilot of a small plane crashed Saturday afternoon in Franklin County is in critical condition after surgery, officials said. The single-engine plane was traveling from Kansas City, Missouri to Frederick, Maryland, according to Indiana State Police Sgt. Stephen Wheeles.

The plane crash and all three on board died. A second dog was found near the wreckage, believed to be the only survivor of the crash. News Release will be sent out later today.

The Indiana police are going to hand off the investigation to the Federal Aviation Administration.


The pilot of a small private plane is getting medical treatment after crashing in a North Carolina field. ISP will be investigating jointly with FAA.

They said one dog survived the crash.

There is no word yet on any other injuries.
