Tottenham slap £50m price tag on star and begin search for replacement

Jose Mourinho believes Manchester United will complete the signing of Danny Rose from Tottenham Hotspur and remains confident that a £50million deal can be struck in January, reports claim.

This led to speculation linking him with a switch to United but Spurs refused to sell Rose after already losing Kyle Walker to Manchester City so the player ended up staying after issuing a public apology.

Rose himself is not happy with the turn of events at Tottenham after he was left out of the matchday squads for the derby defeat against Arsenal and the home draw against West Brom on 25 November.

However, the 27-year-old has fallen out of favour this season after giving an explosive interview with the Sun where he questioned the club's wage structure.

The report adds Alba could now be offered up to Spurs in an exchange for Rose, adding Mauricio Pochettino approves of the transfer.

But the temporary Wembley Stadium hierarchy will only be willing to part company with the Leeds United academy graduate should United stump up the £50m Daniel Levy and co. have demanded.

After his summer outburst at Tottenham's transfer policy last summer, Rose was expected to see out the season.

"I'm not saying I want out, but if something came to me that was concrete, I'd have no qualms about voicing my opinions to anyone at the club".

After being left out of the game against the Gunners, which Tottenham lost and other recent matches as well, Rose has decided that his future does not lie at Wembley and it is high time to make a move.

Former Arsenal striker Wright believes Shaw would be a good addition to the Spurs team if Manchester United were willing to sell the England worldwide.
