Tre'Davious White: Rob Gronkowski's 1-game ban 'a joke'

"All that. People don't think about that when they just react". Apologizing is the least Gronkowski could do for a hit that, as White noted, came after the play, with his back turned, and could have caused a serious injury.

"His intentions were to hurt me", White told reporters Thursday. He also spoke for the first time about the league levying just a one-game suspension for what everyone agrees was dirty and risky.

"The guy did what he wanted to do", White said, via ESPN.com's Mike Rodak.

White was also not buying Gronkowski's explanation after the game that it was done in the heat of the moment.

White said he hasn't received a personal apology from the Patriots tight end, however. "He is what he did". If I'm the coach, yeah, you want to play smart, you don't want to play dirty, you don't want to get that penalty and all that.

The former LSU Tiger said the hit reveals eventhing you needed to know about the type of player Gronkowski is. "But boy, when you see something like that and it happens right in front of you, me as a quarterback, I might have ran over and gave him a good shot". "I don't want to hear nothing from him".

Listed at 6-foot-6 and 265 pounds, Gronkowski used his full force in landing on White, who is 5-foot-11 and 192 pounds.

Gronkowski apologized to assembled media after the game by saying: "First of all, I definitely want to apologize to No. 27 (White)". "I'm not in the business of that". "There was a lot of frustration. But, just through the frustration process, game of football emotions, just what happened". "I'll take it one game at a time", White said.
