Xiaomi Redmi 5 & 5 Plus launching today

Xiaomi is bringing with new Redmi 5, the Full view display design in the low budget smartphone segment.

Ahead of the launch event, pretty everything from design to specifications of the Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus were revealed.

Xiaomi is gearing up to launch the Redmi 5 and and Redmi 5 Plus in China on December 7.

The device, originally priced at Rs. 14,999, is available at Rs. 12,999 on Flipkart. Both the phones will come in Black, Blue, Gold, and Pink colour options, it mentions, which is also confirmed by Xiaomi officially.

Apart from that, the Xiaomi Redmi 5 will be powered by the 1.8GHz processor, which might well be the Snapdragon 450 SoC. It comes in two variants - 3GB RAM+32GB storage priced at Rs 11, 999, and 4GB RAM+64GB storage priced at Rs 13,999 (memory of both models expandable up to 128GB via microSD card).


As per the pictures, both the phones come with a fingerprint sensor at the back.

As said before and now in the listing also, the smartphones would sport an 18:9 aspect ratio.

In terms of camera, it mounts a 13MP camera + Depth editor, ƒ/2.0 aperture, color balancing dual LED flash, 8X digital zoom for photos, and an 8MP front-snapper with wide-angle lens, f/2.0 aperture and LED flash. Most of the specs were leaked on TENAA, while the MIUI 9 was announced by the company. The device will run Android 7.1.2 Nougat with MIUI 9 on top and will be backed up by 4000 mAh battery.

Lenovo K8 Note: It is an impressive handset with a 5.5-inch full HD display with 1,080x1,920 pixels (401 ppi pixel density). The handset houses a larger 4000mAh battery compared to the Redmi 5 and promises up to 17 days of standby time. The device is said to sport a Snapdragon 625 or Snapdragon 630 SoC paired with 3GB or 4GB RAM and 32GB or 64GB storage.
