United Kingdom is partnering with the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government to host a celebration of the life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on Monday. Memorial Service also highlight the community's remembrance of the civil rights leader.

According to Dr. Wornie Reed, the director of the Race and Social Policy Center at Virginia Tech who marched alongside King in the 1960s, Dr. King was in the midst of a lesser known project when he was assassinated, "The Poor People's Campaign".

"Today and every day let's honor Dr. King's legacy by coming together as Hoosiers and as Americans and continuing to advocate for a fair playing field for everyone", Young says.

On Monday, one of America's greatest icons will be honored across the country.

He said afterward that his take on of Trump's racial perspective "means that we have him until 2020 or until something else happens".

President Reagan was against establishing MLK Day as a federal holiday, writing in a letter that King's reputation was "based on an image, not reality".
