Amir Khan signs promotional deal with Matchroom, Eddie Hearn

Promoter Hearn said: "Amir is one of the biggest names in the sport of boxing and his return on April 21 will be the first time he has boxed in the United Kingdom in seven years".

"It's time to put everything that's happened behind me and become a champion again", Hearn added. Get Me Out Of Here! programme last month.

Matchroom boss Eddie Hearn and Khan have been at each other's throats for the past few years in one of Britain's most bitter boxing feuds. "Just as important a factor was the opportunity to fight in the United Kingdom for the first time in five years, and to do so with the support of the British fans and Sky Sports behind me".

Khan said: "Last year was a bit hard for me but the jungle definitely gave me a place to think about life and where I want to be and I decided boxing is where I belong".

"I am delighted to have him back boxing in the UK".

Amir Khan said that he has entered a new chapter in his life and he is focused on that considering the next few years are going to be the final years of his boxing career as he is now 31 and has few fights left.

A fight between the pair has always been touted, however, never came to fruition as the two boxers camps could not agree terms.

Eddie Hearn has grand plans for Amir Khan and that doesn't just include a Khan-Kell Brook bout. If he really wanted the fight between me and Kell Brook, he should not be speaking to me, he should be speaking to [my adviser] Al Haymon. I just don't like Eddie Hearn. "This is a press conference I thought we would never see".

Fans will be hoping the partnership will eventually see Khan face off against Brook, but after the former IBF welterweight champion moved up to 154 pounds that showdown is slightly more complicated. "Boxing is everything for me and I will make sure I achieve the highest goals", Khan said.

"I've been out of the ring for too long, and I'm desperate to make up for lost time, starting in April", he said. This deal doesn't make it certain that fight will happen but it takes away some of the stumbling blocks. "Eddie's good at that and you have to respect him".

"The target is to provide him with the biggest fights possible with a mouth-watering list of names including the likes of Manny Pacquiao, Kell Brook, Keith Thurman and Errol Spence".
