Carrie Underwood Feat. Ludacris: 'The Champion' Stream, Lyrics & Download

Following a brief teaser during an National Football League playoffs commercial last weekend (Jan. 7), Carrie Underwood shared a new anthemic jam "The Champion", which features rap veteran Ludacris.

"When we met with Carrie past year to discuss the Super Bowl open, we each brought ideas", Fred Gaudelli, executive producer of NBC Sunday Night Football and the Super Bowl LII presentation, says.

They say they wrote the song with sports in mind, but also to help people overcome anything in their lives.

Carrie's just-released "The Champion" was co-written by Christopher "Ludacris" Bridges, Brett James, and Chris DeStefano.

NBC has the distinction of broadcasting not only Super Bowl LII from Minneapolis, but the peacock network will follow that with coverage of the Winter Olympics from South Korea.

The pulsing track definitely emphasizes Underwood's pop influences, featuring atmospheric keyboards and light electronic percussion in the verse as she begins, "I'll be the last one standing / Two hands in the air, I'm a champion / You'll be looking up at me when it's over / I live for the battle, I'm a soldier". The Atlanta rapper, 40, drops a few motivational bars near the song's end: "The "C" is for the courage I possess through the drama/'H is for the hurt but it's all for the honor/'A" Is for my attitude working through the patience/Money comes and goes so the "M" is for motivation/Gotta stay consistent the "P' is for persevere". "Carrie presented first. After she spoke, we looked at each other and said, "That's the one". "Later on, our Olympics producers listened to "The Champion" and decided that it would be a flawless complement for our Winter Games coverage".
