Apart from the IIMs, more than 100 institutions use CAT scores for admission to their MBA programmes. There were 231,067 students who had applied for the exam and only 199,632 candidates appeared for CAT 2017.

The exam was conducted in two slots and this year IIM Lucknow conducted the test for entry into all Indian Institutes of Management.

The test was conducted on 26 November, 2017 in over 140 cities.

After the result, various IIMs will announce their admission criteria largely based on the CAT score, writing ability, group discussion and personal interviews.
