Cindy Crawford Recreates Her Iconic Pepsi Commercial 26 Years Later

"To this day, people come up to me to talk about how much they loved my original Pepsi spot from '92", said Crawford. "It was one of those moments in my career that when I walked down the street, people were like, 'Pepsi!' Or I'd be at a bar and people would send me over a Pepsi", she told AP.

The new Super Bowl ad, dubbed "This Is The Pepsi", is part of the company's "Pepsi Generation" campaign honoring the brand's 120-year history in pop culture.

The campaign kicks off in February with the debut of an in-game advertisement during Super Bowl LII and the Pepsi Super Bowl LII Halftime Show, as well as a Pepsi Generations Live pop-up that will be at key cultural moments across the USA throughout the year, starting with the Super Bowl in Minneapolis.

And, Adweek has discovered, Ms Crawford is due to return in this year's Super Bowl (with her young son).

In the clip, Crawford, 51, wears a denim top as she drinks the cold beverage near a gas station. In addition to recreating her original ad, the new spot will also include footage from Michael Jackson's famous Pepsi commercial.

The gridiron matchup has also been the event where Pepsi has poked fun of rival Coke with clever commercials.

Pepsi released a short teaser video for the new 30-second commercial set to air during the 2018 Super Bowl.

"We drove to work together, we shared a trailer, and just as a mom watching him perform, I was the proud stage mom standing by the monitor", she added. Pepsi Generations Live pop-up exhibits will guide fans through the evolution of how Pepsi's history has connected with people over generations.

Crawford's modeling talents have not only extended to her son - her 16-year-old daughter graces the February cover of Vogue Paris. "And it's amusing because during Halloween a lot of women will dress up as me in that commercial. It's, like, an easy Halloween costume".
