CM Siddaramaiah meets Congress chief Rahul Gandhi in Delhi

Less than 24 hours after a complaint was filed by the BJP against Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and KPCC Working President with the Commissioner of Police, Bengaluru, the BJP led by MP Shobha Karandlaje and other senior leaders protested at the Mysore Bank Circle courting arrest.

Talking to reporters after his meet with the Congress president, Siddaramaiah said that there was "no anti-incumbency" against his government.

Responding to his recent tussle with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath over Hinduism and most-recently, the alleged killing of Hindus, Siddaramaiah claimed the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has run out of issues to discuss, and hence are raising irrelevant ones.

Congress president Rahul Gandhi is visiting Karnataka from February 10-12 for the first leg of the election campaign, reports said.

"Rahul Gandhi is very happy with the functioning of the government".

Scores of BJP supporters and activists staged a demonstration in the city on Friday condemning Chief Minister Siddaramaiah likening them to extremists. That (Hindtva) is the only issue they have. "They will teach a lesson to organizations that try to spark unrest among them, sow seeds of communalism and hate people of another religion in the name of dharma". She went on to add that the Chief Minister and the Congress in the state were playing vote bank politics. I said I am also a Hindu but a humane Hindu.

The Karnataka polls are expected to be held in March- April. "Yogi Adityanath and Amit Shah are also raising the same issue and Narendra Modi may also raise the same issue", ANI quoted Siddaramaiah as saying.
