COLD FRONT COMING: As rain passes, colder temps will follow

Patchy blowing snow before 5pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 11. North northwest wind 10 to 15 miles per hour becoming north 5 to 10 miles per hour after midnight. Temperatures will fall to around 24 degrees by 5 p.m. Low: 26. Wind: N 5-15 miles per hour. Wind: S 10-15 miles per hour. Chance of precipitation is 90 percent. No major accumulations are expected.

The rain is being pushed along by a cold front that will bring clearing skies, a brisk northwest wind, and much colder temperatures.

Another 1-2 inches of snow is possible on Friday. A narrow band of very light snow and sleet will move through DFW early this evening, but the sky will clear out by 8 PM. Blowing snow was reported Thursday morning in northwest Oklahoma. Snow tapers off in the afternoon.

Partly cloudy, with a low around -10. Blustery, with a north northwest wind 16 to 20 miles per hour, with gusts as high as 32 miles per hour. Low: 26. High: 40. New ice accumulation of less than a 0.1 of an inch possible. Rain showers will begin overnight, then turn to a wintry mix in the morning. Cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 2. Wind chill values as low as -1. Winds could gust as high as 50 miles per hour.

The winter storm watch is in effect from 3 p.m. Wednesday through noon Thursday, the weather service said, and includes Beltrami, Cass, Hubbard and Clearwater counties, as well as the cities of Bemidji, Red Lake, Bagley, Cass Lake and Park Rapids.

Friday, January 12: High: 42.

Saturday night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 30.

The forecast shows a warming trend through Wednesday, then sleet and snow possible on Thursday.

Sunday night: A 50 percent chance of snow after midnight.
