"Dark Souls: Remastered" Revealed for Switch, PS4, Xbox One, and PC

Bandai Namco invites players back to the treacherous land of Lordran with Dark Souls: Remastered, and re-experience the genre-defining title that kicked off a worldwide gaming phenomena in stunning high-definition detail. As it turns out, Dark Souls: Remastered isn't going to be a Switch-only affair. Dark Souls Remastered will be available on Playstation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. As with so many other remasters, this will enhance the game for modern day consoles, giving it a fresh coat of paint while likely leaving much of the core gameplay unchanged.

Here's the full Nintendo Direct Mini presentation, which also includes a look at Mario Tennis Aces, a Switch version of Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, Kirby Star Allies, The World Ends With You: Final Remix, Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition, SNK Heroines ~Tag Team Frenzy~, Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana, PAYDAY 2, Fe, and Celeste. Namco Bandai doesn't discuss what kind of frame rate we can expect on the standard PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, but the hope is that we'll get 60fps there as well.

The best feature of the Dark Souls Trilogy Box Set is the two iron looking bookends which showcase a knight and a bonfire at its two sides. As part of this Nintendo Direct, Dark Souls Remastered will be revealed, updating the original game to be playable portably for the first time. The Dark Souls Remaster will be launching in May on all platforms. Dark Souls Remastered is set to be released on Switch on May 25th.
