'Dragon Ball FighterZ' open beta features 11 characters, Hit joins roster

The "Dragon Ball FighterZ" open beta is already set to begin this weekend, and developers have finally revealed the last bits of information participants need to know ahead of the test going live.

With the DragonBall FighterZ open beta right around the corner, Arc System Works released a new trailer showing off the fan favorite character, Hit.

This led to an eventual call out by Sabat, who challenged Schemmel to an exhibition in the upcoming Dragon Ball FighterZ. Players can face off using their favorite characters, including Goku, Gohan, and Vegeta in 3 vs. 3 tag battles.

Dragon Ball FighterZ is the newest fighting game to be set in the Dragon Ball world and it is set after the events of Dragon Ball Z have ended.

In Dragon Ball Super, Hit is a warrior from Universe 6 whose enormous power makes him strong enough to easily defeat a weakened Super Saiyan Blue Vegeta. Incorporating this power into FighterZ could prove interesting from a gameplay perspective.

Once the open beta gets underway, the only confirmed "Dragon Ball FighterZ" characters who have still not been made playable thus far will be Yamcha, Tien, Ginyu, Gotenks, Hit, Goku Black as well as the Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan versions of Goku and Vegeta. Fans are hoping that other new characters, like the female Super Saiyan, Caulifla, and Freiza's Universe 6 counterpart, Frost, will also join the game's roster.

Dragon Ball FighterZ is nearly upon us, and those that pre-order the upcoming fighter from Bandai Namco digitally can get early access to the beta which begins this Saturday Jan 13.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 first launched for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in October 2016, followed by Switch in September 2017.
