GOP senator insists Trump didn't use vulgar term

"This agenda-driven report is clearly created to support the Trump administration's anti-immigrant and Islamophobic policies", the Council on American-Islamic Relations said. A senior GOP source familiar with the matter told CNN that instead of hearing the President say "shithole" during the meeting, some Republicans actually heard "shithouse".

"We want to avoid the mass draconian deportation that otherwise will occur to these very fearless and talented young people who have come to our country", Democratic Senator Richard Blumenthal of CT said.

Democrats arguing that, with an actual deal finished, Republicans should at the very least put it up for a vote to avoid a shutdown.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo, speaking at the annual Martin Luther King Day event at the Rev. Al Sharpton's National Action Network, mocked Republican senators who said they can't recall President Donald Trump uttering a vulgarity during a meeting at the White House on immigration.

"Senator Dicky Durbin totally misrepresented what was said at the DACA meeting". "I'm not going to try to predict the future but we definitely want to get a deal done on the budget and we want a clean budget bill".

Trump told reporters at Mar-a-Lago, his Florida resort, that he and congressional Republicans were "ready, willing and able to make a deal" on the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, "but Democrats don't want to".

A federal judge last week temporarily blocked the Trump administration's decision to end the program known as DACA, although an appeal is possible. Members of Congress from both parties are trying to strike a deal Mr Trump would support to extend that protection.

Trump made the remark Thursday during an Oval Office meeting on immigration with a bipartisan group of six senators. Lindsey O. Graham (S.C.), issued a statement that did not specifically confirm the words used but backed up Durbin's account. Gustavo Torres, executive director of CASA, warned that Trump's immigration overhaul plans are a "manifestation of his racist views".

The White House has not explicitly denied the reports.

In addition to protecting dreamers, and jump-starting the border wall and funding other security measures (including surveillance technology and retaining Border Patrol agents), the deal would reshape and shrink the diversity lottery system that Mr.Trump and some other Republicans dislike. "And I'm telling you it's a gross misrepresentation".

On September 5th, President Trump rescinded DACA.

A new report from the Justice and Homeland Security Departments said that almost three-fourths of the 549 worldwide terror-related convictions in USA courts since the September 11 attacks in 2001 involved foreign-born individuals, including 148 granted citizenship after arriving in the United States. "Please list the date your prior DACA ended in the appropriate box on Part 1 of the Form I-821D". Now, there can be no mistaking the larger goals and underlying motivations of the hard line anti-immigrant agenda: kick out and keep out people of color in favor of those from European countries.

Trump blamed Democrats for the standoff in Twitter postings Tuesday. "Why don't we get more people from Norway?'" Durbin said.

If the allegation were true, she asked reporters, "Why did NBC give him a show for a decade on TV?"
