Great Britain's Winter Olympics team challenged to secure at least five medals

NBC's digital coverage marks the first time any Winter Olympics will be available in VR.

NBC is leaning on Intel's True VR technology, which uses multiple camera pods at each event to create interactive 360-degree virtual reality environments. During the 2010 Winter Olympics, in Vancouver, men's downhill skiing at Whistler was postponed because of poor weather conditions including heavy fog and temperatures above freezing.

Saint Mary's Hospital in Seoul said it will run a task force comprised of three doctors, two nurses and two emergency medical technicians to treat Olympians at the PyeongChang Games.

NBC will air over 50 hours of live VR coverage of the 2018 Winter Olympics to U.S. pay-TV subscribers, Variety reports.

Lizzy Yarnold succeeded Williams as Olympic skeleton champion at the Sochi 2014 Games in a four-medal haul, which is poised to rise to five.

The jackets have an American flag patch and Team USA patch on them.

In the USA, this content will be available via the forthcoming NBC Sports VR app and will permit selection of various camera angles (typically between three to six options per event) in addition to the immersive panoramic views.

UK Sport have invested more than £32million of national lottery and government funding across eight winter Olympic and Paralympic sports in the PyeongChang 2018 cycle - more than double the investment of the Sochi cycle, which was just over £14m.

VR streaming in sports isn't a novel idea, but this would be the first time for the Olympics to be streamed in VR to nearly all VR headsets.
