Indian man brutally thrashes son; video goes viral

The video was retrived from a mobile phone which was sent to a service centre or fix.

According to police, Mahendra Kumar (37), a plumber employed at Mindtree, an IT consulting firm, was arrested from his home for badly thrashing his son for bunking tuition classes. The incident occurred two months ago and was videographed on his cell phone by his wife. After watching the shocking video, the technician leaked it to the media on Saturday. Mahendra first hits the son with a phone charger repeatedly and keeps asking him, "Will you lie again?" Then the little boy is seen being thrown in the air and then on the bed multiple times. "The mother allegedly shot the video so that it could be used to discipline the boy in future", Kavita said. However, Mahendra then kicks the boy from the bedroom into the living room.

What's even worse is that the man had insisted on recording a video of the thrashing so it can be shown to their son to make sure that he doesn't lie again. The way the man has displayed his anger against his son is disturbing. The shopkeeper who came across the video sought the help of a NGO and informed the police. In the background, the mother can be heard complaining about his lies; he is alleged to have lied after skipping his tuition classes and over his pending homework.

Police said, Mahendra was angry with his son for lying. He has been booked for assault, criminal intimidation and under other sections of the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015.

Police said the boy thankfully did not receive any serious injuries.
