James Franco "Really Hurt" by Sexual Misconduct Allegations

James Franco

The "Time's Up" campaign was launched by powerful Hollywood women to fight against sexual harassment in wake of the Harvey Weinstein scandal.

On Thursday, the Los Angeles Times published an article in which five women accused him of inappropriate or sexually exploitative behavior. She deleted the Twitter app off of her phone and made her Instagram account private, though more women have privately reached out to her with allegations against Franco. "She is part of our camp!" she says.

Like in most cases we have been hearing, the accusers stated that they believed Franco could offer them some type of career advancement, and went along with the abuse and his wishes even when they were uncomfortable.

James Franco's Golden Globes victory may have placed the actor under the spotlight on Sunday, but the win also nudged the numerous allegations of sexual misconduct facing him under the public microscope immediately after.

On Thursday, Tither-Kaplan told The LA Times that Franco participated in an "abuse of power" on film sets designed to create a "culture of exploiting non-celebrity women".

Franco's attorney Michael Plonsker told the L.A. Times that Paley's recollection of the incident is "not accurate", but did not elaborate further.

Paley claimed after beginning a romantic relationship with the Golden Globe victor, he pressured her into performing oral sex on him while they were sitting in a auto.

"I personally checked on all the actresses constantly to make sure they were OK and comfortable", she said. I don't know, I really don't.

Two other former students, Hilary Dusome and Natalie Chmiel, spoke of their experience at Playhouse West, where Franco taught before Studio 4. However, Franco removed the plastic guard that covered the women's vaginas before simulating oral sex with them, she alleged.

Got a story tip?

HBO is still figuring out what to do about its James Franco problem.

"I just didn't want him to hate me, so I did it", she told the Times. If I have done something wrong, I will fix it - I have to.

"You're not curious enough to reach out to her, as someone that you've had a good relationship with before to try to understand why she would have done that?" he asked, to which James replied: "I don't know, it was just so shocking, I don't know".

The admittance of a consensual relationship has prompted some to disbelieve her and like Sarah Tither-Kaplan, responded in a negative manner.

Actresses Sarah Tither-Kaplan and Violet Paley took to Twitter to share their stories about the 39 year-old star. "Please never ask me why I left the film/tv business", the former Breakfast Club star tweeted during the show, captioning one of her tweets, "#MeToo". I had nothing but a great time with her - total respect for her. Four of the women were students in Franco's acting classes and one is a filmmaker who considered him a mentor. In fact, she signed nudity agreements for each of the films she made with Franco.
