Man arrested on Greyhound bus after police chase in IL

One person is in custody after the pursuit of the bus, which began in Wisconsin and ended on Interstate 94 in Lake County, according to a press release from Illinois State Police.

There were 50 passengers on board the bus, Greyhound said in a statement. The bus crossed into IL and was stopped near I-94 at Rt. 173.

Kenosha County, Wis., sheriff's Lt. Rory Zuerlein said his agency received a call around 10 p.m. that an armed passenger on the bus was threatening other riders, the paper reported.

So far no injuries have been reported.


Authorities announced the suspect was in custody after 12:30 a.m.

The pursuit started on Interstate 94 in Racine County, Wisconsin around 10:06 PM on Friday, January 12th and traveled south down the interstate into northern IL.

According to the Illinois State Police, troopers were responding to a "possible hostage situation" on the bus.
