Microsoft OneDrive Gets a New Look & Major New Features

Microsoft has made lots of other changes and improvements in this update. As they work across their PCs, Macs and mobile devices, they expect an uncompromised experience that is familiar yet optimized for the device they are using. As on other platforms, real-time co-authoring will require an Office 365 subscription. Using real-time co-authoring, colleagues, friends, and family can contribute to and edit documents simultaneously in the Word, Excel and PowerPoint iOS apps.

Starting with the co-authoring feature, users can now see who is viewing their document, what they are editing, and view the edits across platforms including iOS, macOS, Windows, Android, and Office Online. Now it's easier than ever to organize and rearrange your files. And once you've opened those files, you can easily update them and save them back to OneDrive.

For iPad users, Microsoft has added support for drag and drop to its suite of Office applications and OneDrive. Now you can pull in content easily on your iPad with drag and drop support in Office and OneDrive. You can download the latest update straight from the App Store's Updates section. With this feature, iPhone and iPad users on iOS 11 can upload, access, edit, and save content to OneDrive and Sharepoint from any other app that offers Files integration. If you want these files to sync to the cloud, you'll need to move them manually to the Documents and Pictures folders inside OneDrive. If you use list view, you can also see metadata so it's simple to who you've shared a document with and when it was last updated. But when it comes to mobile apps, the company knows exactly what it's doing. OneDrive can now preview 130 different file types too. Just and hold on a file and move it in OneDrive or vice versa. Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and One Drive are all gaining new features, including drag and drop support and more.
