Rapper Kevin Gates Has Been Released From Prison

Kevin Gates is now a free man and the hip hop Twitter community is reacting.

Early Wednesday morning (Jan. 10), embattled rapper Kevin Gates was released from an IL state prison, TMZ reports. Under his parole, Gates will allegedly be under mandatory supervision and can not possess any firearms during his time out of jail.

The Baton Rouge rapper served nine months on 30-month prison sentence for felony gun possession. In that case, a warrant was out for his arrest, but this time there are no outstanding warrants, at least none that we are aware of.

As per TMZ, the By Any Means 2 artist was released from prison as scheduled earlier this morning and, thankfully, there was no surprise warrant waiting around for him once he was outside of those penitentiary walls. "Please keep Kevin Gates and that trash music locked up in prison where it belong", one fan tweeted.

Gates previously spent time in prison after he was convicted of kicking a female fan during a performance in Florida.

Upon Gates' release, he posted a cryptic message on social media, which you can see below.
