Russian man smashes into store with tank, steals wine

In perhaps the biggest ever sign of a serious drinking problem, a man in Russian Federation rammed a stolen armored personnel carrier into a grocery store to steal a bottle of wine. A person living nearby was able to record the freaky crime (see above), and many people photographed the aftermath. He stole the APC from a "motorsport training ground" near Apatity, Russia.

According to Russian news site, a 29-year-old man, who has not been named, stole an armoured vehicle from a military driving school in the north-west Russian town of Apatity.

Witnesses said that a 29-year-old man crashed through the window of a Semya supermarket after the vehicle, owned by an official paramilitary organisation, emerged from woodland and hit a auto. It's also quite impressive he managed to drive it and only smash one vehicle (and a supermarket shopfront) in the process. I don't blame the man for taking a joyride in that vehicular behemoth.

The man left with a stolen bottle of wine, but was later arrested by police.

Witnesses visible in the footage did not seemed particularly disturbed by the incident.

The man, in his late twenties, did not resist arrest, RIA news agency reported.
