Sanchez To Manchester United A 'Done Deal'

Arsene Wenger says there is still a chance Mesut Ozil will stay at Arsenal, but has admitted for the first time Alexis Sanchez is unlikely to sign a new deal at the club.

Manchester City were believed to be favourites to sign the Chile global thanks to their position in the Premier League and the relationship Sanchez already has with manager Pep Guardiola.

Arsenals Chilean midfielder Alexis Sanchez is likely to join Manchester City in a January transfer move.

He was heavily linked with a move to Manchester City, but United have become the favourites after the Etihad Stadium outfit baulked at Arsenal's £35m January valuation.

"You might think his behaviour this season has been petulant, selfish, arrogant; but to me that suggests he's a frustrated victor who is desperate for trophies", Parker said.

Neighbours Manchester City are said to have a verbal agreement in place which would explain why they haven't been in a rush to meet Arsenal's alleged valuation of £40 million. We don't believe in signing a player just to do something.

Neville pointed out the difference in the illustrious histories of United and City as he claimed that his former club had a lot more to offer than financial benefits.

The former United defender and England global also believes the chance to work with Guardiola for a second time should lure Sanchez to the Etihad rather than Old Trafford. But sometimes it can happen: on the table there's a fantastic opportunity and you fight for that opportunity.

Manchester United would be making an "unbelievable" signing comparable to their swoop for Eric Cantona if they landed Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal, according to Phil Neville. Whether Arsenal's interest in these players is concrete or not remains to be seen, but Sanchez will be going nowhere until a new attacker arrives.

In relation to Sanchez all I can say, which everyone else says, is that he is a phenomenal player.

"They are top of the league and going to win the league this season".

Nevertheless, Mourinho does not think that any signing will bridge the gap between United and City in terms of points in the Premier League this season, with Guardiola's side 15 clear ahead of its trip to Liverpool on Sunday.
