Sen. Feinstein releases transcript regarding Trump-Russia dossier

Mr. Trump claimed on Twitter that the California Democrat has stated on "numerous occasions" that no collusion took place between his presidential campaign and Russian Federation during the 2016 election.

"A lot of us were concerned about what the heck was going on at the Federal Bureau of Investigation?" said Simpson.

Feinstein, who is running for re-election in November, has issued a flurry of news releases to announce her requests to current and former members of Trump's campaign team for interviews and documents. Four months later, Trump fired James Comey, and the furor in Congress led to the appointment of special prosecutor Robert Mueller.

Cohen said he also filed a second defamation suit against political intelligence firm Fusion GPS, which compiled the dossier.

"Chris said he was very concerned about whether this represented a national security threat and said he wanted to - he said he thought we were obligated to tell someone in government, in our government about this information", Simpson said. "It was a Democrat hoax". "There was no collusion, everybody including the Dems knows there was no collusion, and yet on and on it goes", he continued.

On Monday, there were new revelations that FBI officials Peter Strzok and Lisa Page had texted messages to each other that suggested they were on the Russian Federation investigation before the election.

Last week, two Republican senators, Chuck Grassley and Lindsey Graham, wrote to the Department of Justice, demanding that a criminal prosecution be undertaken to target Steele for allegedly lying to FBI investigators.

Donald Trump's least presidential moments so far. BuzzFeed said it was nevertheless publishing the document "so that Americans can make up their own minds" about the allegations against Trump. Dianne Feinstein told The Daily Caller that Fusion GPS lawyers asked her to release company co-founder Glenn Simpson's testimony transcript.

The 312-page transcript detailed Fusion GPS co-founder Glenn Simpson's August interview with committee investigators. Chuck Grassley. She is the top Democrat on the panel.

At the news conference, the President mentioned Hillary Clinton a number of times, arguing that the entire Russian Federation investigation was a cover for a losing candidate.

"The implication that it was illegal is irresponsible and reprehensible", the Connecticut Democrat told reporters Wednesday morning. Chuck Grassley (R., Iowa) and said Wednesday that she was "pressured" to do so. By Wednesday he appeared to have softened, saying he was continuing to negotiate witnesses with Feinstein in the Russian Federation probe.

"I made no statement to that effect", Feinstein said about being pressured.

"They had other intelligence about this matter from an internal Trump campaign source and. they believed Chris' information might be credible", Mr Simpson testified.

Ms Feinstein said this was "part of a deeply troubling effort to undermine the investigation into potential collusion and obstruction of justice". From Strzok's text and a few other details, Republicans are weaving a story in which Trump is the victim rather than the beneficiary of illicit collusion.

"When they have no collusion and nobody's found any collusion at any level, it seems unlikely that you'd even have an interview", Mr Trump said during a joint news conference with the prime minister of Norway.

Describing the California Senator as "sneaky", Trump called for Feinstein to face a primary challenge when seeking reelection this year. How does the release of this transcript tie into that?
