This is the first time that the NYF is being organised in NCR.

Sanjay Baru while addressing said that the PM Modi is working on the vision of Swami Vivekananda to make India as Vishav Guru. "May his life be an example for the youth of India to always work for the betterment of the country". The Festival will commence on the occasion of birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, the youth icon of India. The inaugural function will be co-presided by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, and Union Minister for State (Independent Charge) of Youth Affairs and Sports Col. Rajyavardhan Rathore.

The entire programme is created to enhance the awareness about government initiatives and exhorting the youth to express their perceptions and concepts of how to make their initiatives more effective. Union Minister for Culture (Independent Charge) Mahesh Sharma will be the guest of honour on the occasion. As it was felt that the philosophy of Swamiji and the ideals for which he lived and worked could be a great source of inspiration for the Indian Youth, the Government of India chose to observe the birthday of Swami Vivekananda (12 January) as National Youth Day every year from 1985 onwards, he added.


"The State government will soon issue allowances for all eligible unemployed youngsters", said Minister for Youth, Sports, Skill Development, Unemployment Benefits, Kollu Ravindra as he addressed the gathering present.

His had a message for the youth of the country saying, "Youth Power, Unite for #NewIndia" as Swami Vivekananda is hailed as the youth icon". In a country where 60 % population is under 35, the significance of National Youth day becomes more important.
