Today Is The Last Day To Upgrade To Windows 10 Free

"If you use assistive technologies, you can upgrade to Windows 10 at no cost as Microsoft continues our efforts to improve the Windows 10 experience for people who use these technologies".

The company warned users that it would close this loophole on 31 December, 2017. Check our comprehensive Windows 10 upgrade guide for more information on what to do before, during, and after you upgrade. So, don't worry about security updates for five more years.

It's staggering to think there are people who haven't made the jump from Microsoft's easily imperfect operating system that was Windows 8 and Windows 8.1, and yet, apparently there are indeed those people.

Microsoft is close its free Windows 10 migration offer to users of Windows 8.1 within the next 24 hours as part of its winding down of support for the unloved operating system. The good news is that Windows 8.1 will benefit from an extended security support until 2023. So, if you had ever used Windows 10's Narrator function, or dictation, you could theoretically argue that you had used Microsoft's assistive technologies and qualified for the upgrade. However, that day came and Microsoft extended it till 16 January - tomorrow. And while the company gave users a one-year window to upgrade to Windows 10 for free, NetMarketshare shows about 7 percent of users have refused to upgrade, or simply forgot to do it by the July, 2016 deadline.

So, if you have been undecided about the upgrade you better make up your mind now.

You are still being allowed to install Windows 10 at no cost by taking advantage of the offer available for devices with accessibility features.

If you are not sure about the upgrade as Windows 8.1 works fine, you should take into account the fact that Microsoft has cut support for the OS on January 9.
