Trump's 'Fake News' Awards Tweet Leads To Internet Outrage

President Donald Trump announced Tuesday that he will hand out awards for dishonest media reporting in several different categories on Jan 8.

'Subjects will cover Dishonesty & Bad Reporting in various categories from the Fake News Media.

Trump also took aim at North Korean leader Kim Jong Un during his tweet storm on Wednesday morning.

Of course, this is far from the first time the president has announced his plan to attack the "fake news" by implementing some kind of mock "trophy" system for media outlets he doesn't like.

President Trump has relatively and frequently termed these trendy media houses as "fake" media.

The president subsequently tweeted his followers should watch conservative commentator Sean Hannity's program on Fox News. They are all bad.

Just last week supporters of his campaign were asked in an email to vote on news they deemed fake, in order to assist him in giving out the awards.

Late in the evening, Fox News listed out some news stories of other networks that later bear out to be erroneous. "And we want to hear from you", the email read. 'Let the President know if there is another story you think should be crowned as the 2017 KING of Fake News'.

He insists, however, that the fake news media is not his enemy, but the American people's enemy.

"ABC News MISTAKENLY reported that candidate Trump directed Michael Flynn to make contact with Russian officials before the election", it said. After a year of feuding with media since becoming president, it appears the war of words will find a new twist in an award ceremony January 8. His criticism of the press escalated during his 2016 campaign, in which he began to appropriate the term "fake news" as part of his opprobrium for outlets like The New York Times, CNN, MSNBC and The Washington Post.
