Free2Hope, a new center to support survivors of violence, sex and labor trafficking, opened Thursday on Barret Avenue. The film chronicles two survivors of human trafficking.

Mckown says a lot of it can happen at truck stops around the country where victims are used for prostitution.

"I said, just kill me because I had given up all hope in life. So some possible indicators would be a certain tattoo because most traffickers do brand their victims", said Evans. "If you come into our office we are always going to ask you if you feel safe where you are". She said it is usually somebody very close to the victim who has the power to control their world. These snapshots of tailored information use statistics from the National Human Trafficking Hotline (NHTH), including the number of cases reported, number of persons trafficked, demographic information about potential victims, and the locations where instances of trafficking occurred. He agreed and she checked into a local center providing services to victims. "We offer them the opportunity to go to counseling, be healed holistically, help with financial planning, they get to go to college or get a skill totally for free".
