Happening now: Buhari arrives Katsina enroute Daura

State governors under the All Progressive Congress ( APC) Governors Forum, today stormed Katsina on four chattered planes ahead of their meetings with President Muhammadu Buhari in his country home, Daura.

What was certain however was that the President's Daura visit is connected to last week's death of two members of his family.

President Buhari arrived Umaru Musa Yar'Adua Airport, Katsina, about 4.22p.m where Governor Aminu Masari, the Emir of Katsina, Dr. Kabir Usman and other personalities welcomed him.

He dismissed media reports that their mission to Daura was aimed at convincing the President to seek re-election in the 2019 presidential election.

Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and Chief Niyi Akande had on February 13 met with President Buhari behind closed doors at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

According to a source, the meeting became necessary to douse tension and continue the reconciliation process of the APC, which the president started by appointing the national leader of the party, Bola Tinubu to champion.

"After the condolences, we had some very intimate discussion that further bound our relationships and affinity together and I believe this is a continuation of our close association and support, loyalty and commitment to Mr. President's cause and Nigeria's cause, " Al-Makura said.

He, however, declined comment on the agenda of the meeting.

Also, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, said whatever meeting the President has with anyone in Daura would be a private one.
