In other HTC news, Blass leaked details about another one of the company's device.

Last week, the company showcased an unannounced smartphone in its home country during a 5G event organized by a local carrier. While we do have photos from the event, confirming that a mystery phone was indeed on display, HTC did well of covering up anything of value that we could learn from seeing it.

Blass said that the phone is codenamed as Breeze.

From what we can see, the alleged HTC U12 / Imagine has a near bezel-less screen with an 18:9 aspect ratio, possibly measuring 6-inch inches (similar to the already available HTC U11+). Earlier rumours have suggested the smartphone will have a 4K display, and a recent render suggested that there might be an iris scanner on the front, instead of a fingerprint sensor - matching the ongoing trend of offering facial recognition features on flagship smartphones.

As we wait for the inevitable successor to the U11 to be announced by HTC at some point this year, it appears that the handset has allegedly made an unofficial appearance during a 5G industry summit in Taiwan. Most probably, this is thanks to the fact that the U12 is powered by a Qualcomm's brand new Snapdragon 845 processor, which includes a Qualcomm X20 LTE modem that supports download speeds of up to 1.2 Gbps.

Based on reports from Sogi, a Taiwanese publication, HTC will be launching the U12 somewhere in 2018, but no official confirmation has come from HTC.
