Man City 3-0 West Brom

Man City 3-0 West Brom

It was once again a masterful performance from De Bruyne on Wednesday evening that saw City become victorious after the Belgian scored a goal and set up Fernandinho at the Etihad.

Sterling was the creator once more as he slid Aguero in behind the defense, before the Argentina striker dinked the ball over the oncoming Foster with just a minute remaining.

Their rivals Manchester United were unable to maintain the 12-point gap, after they lost 2-0 to Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley.

While the scorer of City's opening goal was a surprise, the source of the assist was predictable.

The only negative for City in the first half was the injury to David Silva, who was forced off after a challenge with Sam Field and replaced by Ilkay Gundogan.

And in truth, there were few incidents that suggested that the game was anything other than a top versus bottom clash as City largely strolled to their 22nd league victory of the campaign.

Daniel Sturridge came off the bench to make his West Brom debut after joining on loan from Liverpool until the end of the season, but wasted his side's best chance of the game, before Aguero showed him how it's done.

Moments after Foster superbly denied Bernardo Silva, City moved two clear thanks to De Bruyne, who evaded James McClean's attempt to bring him down before latching onto Sterling's return pass.

Daniel Sturridge nearly had a debut goal for the visitors after coming off the bench late on, but Kyle Walker was on hand to deny the forward before he played a follow-up attempt into the side-netting.

Indeed, this is also West Brom's longest losing streak against a single team in their league history. "It's always hard to compete on four fronts whatever your team is and how many players you have".

However, the Skyblues took hold of the game from the get-go and held on with a boa constrictor-like vice. So they are the bosses, they have to take a decision. "He can play in different positions", said Arsene Wenger.

Time for the "Ben foster only plays good against us" no mate he does these saves every week!

"What more an you say?"
