Ryan Coogler blown away by #BlackPanther reaction

From visionary director Ryan Coogler to the insanely talented cast to the diverse crew to even the invisible hands that helped create the box office smash, the film is a landmark moment for blockbuster filmmaking. Several Hollywood personalities have expressed their support for the movie, such as Justice League star Ray Fisher, Oprah, former First Lady Michelle Obama, Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins, and a slew of Marvel folks like Captain America Chris Evans, Captain Marvel Brie Larson, Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn, and star Chris Pratt. We know what happens, but how we get there is the crux of it, so we're allowed to have a lot more fun than in the other movies, where you have to deal with a lot of lineage and what's going to happen.

In New Zealand, after opening last Thursday, the film had a box office total of $2.24 million by the end of Sunday.

Black Panther grossed an impressive $242 million domestically and $427 million worldwide and counting.

Ryan Coogler would eventually become the director of Black Panther after impressive films, Fruitvale Station and Creed.

Black Panther has already cemented itself as one of the year's major blockbusters, garnering excellent reviews and raking in more than $400 million Dollars since it opened this past weekend - making it the highest grossing February release of all time. And our team was made up of wonderful people from all over the world who believed in this story.

Though Marvel Studios, after 17 films and a decade in the business understand what makes a superhero film work, the response to Black Panther is stronger than the studio anticipated.

In it, Coogler said that he felt humbled and moved to tears that people of all ethnicities supported film, lauded its primarily black cast, and thanked the press for its overwhelming support of the film.

"And to the young ones, who came out with their parents, with their mentors, with their friends. Thank you for giving our team of filmmakers the greatest gift: The opportunity to share this film, that we poured our hearts and souls into, with you".
