USA gay skating sensation to boycott White House party

If you've been watching the Perfect Human Specimen Awards aka the Winter Olympics you're surely familiar with Adam Rippon, the team U.S. figure skater who is deservedly stealing the show, and providing an endless stream of internet-ready content for NBC and its commentators. "They have the footage!" he said afterward, bouncing in skates through the snaking interview area.

United States figure skater Adam Rippon has made it clear that he is not a fan of the Trump administration, saying his decision to snub the White House's invitation would be a protest against what he views as homophobia among the country's leadership. To that end, some television coverage of Rippon sometimes glosses over (or skips entirely) how his sexual identity fits into his personal narrative, and the official transcripts of Rippon's interview on Monday that were provided by Olympic officials did not include any responses that weren't of the stock sports variety.

'I don't think he has a real concept of reality.

This news clip has resurfaced of Rippon talking about his Olympic dreams - when he was 13.

And, of course, about Vice President Mike Pence - and anyone else who Rippon believes wants to trample LGBT rights.

"I looked around and saw my competitors, they're all doing these quads, and at the same time they're a head shorter than me, they're 10 years younger than me and they're the size of one of my legs", Rippon said. "It's the same now as it was in my day, and I think it's all figure skaters", former champion skater Brian Boitano told the Times. Before heading to the Olympics, Rippon commented that he didn't agree with Pence leading the US delegation during the opening ceremony.

"We made a few changes with my coach and I was able to put together a strong performance", Rippon said, "but there's definitely a few points I want to squeeze out of this performance".

Rippon has already refused to meet one USA official.

"Adam went on to say he'd not go out of his way to meet Pence, "...somebody who I felt has gone out of their way to not only show that they aren't a friend of a gay person but that they think that they're sick". "I went to his room and I was like "We're Olympic medalists"!" And I've got a big mouth and a loud voice.

"Me using my voice has given my skating a greater objective", he said. "I have seven or nine tattoos, but they're all in white ink, and so she got hers in white ink as well", he said.

"While you were busy being heterosexual, I studied the blade". "I want it to be about my fantastic skating and being America's sweetheart".
