Wales stick with winning XV as North returns to bench

Wales head coach Warren Gatland has kept faith with the starting line-up that crushed Scotland in the opening game of the Six Nations Championship last Saturday for this weekend's crucial encounter with England, but has recalled fit-again wing George North to the replacements to cover an injury concern over Josh Adams. There is no place for the Saracens wing Liam Williams who returned to training this week after missing the opening round with an abdominal strain.

The British and Irish Lions duo have seen little action this season as they have battled with injury.

The 25-year-old has been named among the replacements after making his comeback from a knee injury for the Saints in the Anglo-Welsh Cup.

Gatland said: "It's great to name an unchanged starting XV". He is a great goal-kicker and very good under the high ball.

"We know how tough it is going to be against that huge English forward pack".

'I felt there was real determination from the players in the second-half to go out and show who we were, but to be caught in our 22, playing phases that weren't really on, and then to come away three points further down was disappointing for everyone, ' Townsend added.

Wales were the last team to beat England in a Six Nations Test match at Twickenham, winning 19-12 six years ago when centre Scott Williams scored a try five minutes from time.

Townsend takes his team to Dublin and Rome next month but they have home advantage for their next two matches - against France and England as they look to recapture impressive autumn form that saw a record win against Australia and a narrow loss to world champions New Zealand.
