Woman dies as hair get stuck in go-kart's chain

A 28-year-old woman lost her life after her hairs got entangled in a wheel of a go-kart and her scalp was ripped off. The freak mishap took place when she was riding a go-kart along with her husband Amardeep Singh, 30. She was immediately rushed to a Civil Hospital, Sector 6, in Panchkula where she was declared brought dead.

28-year-old Puneet Kaur, along with her family, had gone to an amusement park in Pinjore. "On their way back from Timber Trail, they made a decision to visit the amusement park", Hindustan Times quoted a policeman as saying.

The family had booked four go-karts - open-wheel cars used for recreational purposes - for six members. While Puneet and her husband were seated in a go-kart, their son was seated in another with his grandmother. Though Puneet had her hair tied into a bun with a rubber band and was wearing a helmet given by the caretaker of the go-kart station, the bun came off suddenly and her hair got stuck in one of the rear wheels. "It will be followed by investigations", said a police official.

Meanwhile, relatives of the family have accused the Pinjore police of obtaining Amardeep's signature on the statement, which was dictated by the police to him. The victim's body will be sent for an autopsy on Thursday.

The park was leased out to a private contractor by the Haryana government, reports say.

"This incident has left everyone shocked", said Yadavindra Gardens manager Neeraj Gupta. "It is shocking this incident happened".

Yadavindra Gardens management has shut go-karting and have started a probe at departmental level.
