Android 8.0 Oreo rolling out to ZenFone 4 Pro

One of the mid-range series from Sony is the Sony Xperia R series which saw the launch of Xperia R1 and R1 Plus from Sony a year ago. Android Oreo has other features like including Background limits, installation of apps via APK, over 60 new emojis, notification dots, Wide-gamut colour for apps, Snoozing individual notification, Adaptive icons, Keyboard navigation, WebView enhancements and much more. The Xperia actions feature is said to intelligently suggest actions to users based on their usage.

While there is no news yet about V30 Oreo updates from other carriers, now that Verizon has released its update other networks will likely not be far behind. Additionally, some users have since reported issues like app crashes and touch unresponsiveness after updating to Oreo. The Sony Xperia R1 Plus has a bigger 3GB RAM and 32GB storage. Both smartphones have a 13-megapixel camera at the rear with Predictive Hybrid Autofocus and an LED flash. On the front is an 8-megapixel sensor. Connectivity features offered by the two smartphones include Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2 Low Energy, USB Type-C port, GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS, and 4G VoLTE.

The Xperia R1 Plus and Xperia R1 feature a 2620mAh battery.

"Tonight I got Android 8.0 Oreo on my LG V30", bragged a user on the popular XDA-Developers forum. After a rather long wait, the update has finally started rolling out.

The update comes around two months after it was first released in South Korea. While the former weighs in at 1.32GB in terms of size, the latter is 1.59GB in size. The update will also bring a relatively new Android security patch to the two mid-range handsets. The update is now being rolled out over-the-air and will soon go live for users in all regions across the country.
