Memphis hung with the C's through the first nine-plus minutes of the game, pulling to within 23-22 after Marc Gasol slammed a dunk home with 2:45 remaining in the opening frame. They have dropped nine straight on the road - and are 0-9 this year against the Eastern Conference on the road this season.

Evans is averaging 34.1 FanDuel points in 49 games (29 starts) this season. Boston has won all three of its games coming out of the All-Star break.

For the Celtics, center Aron Baynes missed the last game with an elbow injury and is questionable for tonight's contest. In all, the Grizzlies were missing five players in Miami.

After out-scoring the Celtics in the third and fourth quarters, the Grizzlies just couldn't overcome a double-digit deficit behind JaMychal Green's 21 point, 11 rebound, double-double.

Monday marked Gasol's 700th career National Basketball Association game (all with the Grizzlies).


Rozier scored 12 points on 4-for-4 shooting in eight minutes off the bench in the first half as the reserves fueled much of the early run.

The Celtics return to action Wednesday night when they host the Charlotte Hornets. C Aron Baynes returned action after sitting out Saturday's win against NY with a left elbow sprain.

Terry Rozier scored 15 points and Jaylen Brown and Marcus Morris added 13 apiece for the Celtics.

"Well, yeah", Irving said.

In his third game back, Marcus Smart played solid defense but didn't shoot the ball well.

Irving took Saturday night's game over in the third quarter, scoring 11 points as his team pulled ahead against the scrappy and running Knicks.
