Ex-Liverpool man Coutinho implores Barca to sign Neymar

Midfielder Ivan Rakitic has revealed that he would be delighted to see Neymar make a return to Barcelona.

Neymar's links with Real Madrid have taken another twist after it was reported the Paris Saint-Germain star's father, Neymar Sr., has met with the Spanish club amid claims a price tag has been set for his transfer.

The goal-scoring star has been brilliant in his lone season in France, tallying 28 goals in all competitions, however, his side's recent UEFA Champions League struggle against Real Madrid has the Brazilian teetering on the brink of a move away from the Parc des Princes. If you are playing for Barcelona, then overcoming Real Madrid, overcoming Atletico Madrid, winning stuff with Brazil - it does not matter if you are the top scorer in the World Cup, if you get knocked out in the quarter or semi-finals.

"If it was up to me, I'd open Camp Nou's doors to him right now".

Barcelona pursued Coutinho as a replacement for Neymar, along with Ousmane Dembele.

Asked about the speculation on Friday, Real coach Zinedine Zidane said, "Neymar could play in all the clubs because he is very good, like many players".

Neymar only left Barca for French giant Paris Saint-Germain in August past year, the Brazil star becoming the world's most expensive player after his release clause was activated. Jose Mourinho is seeing Neymar as the final piece to revolve his team around whereas Pep Guardiola reportedly wants the Brazilian as a Sergio Aguero replacement.

Neymar is now back in Brazil where he is recovering from surgery on the fractured metatarsal which forced him to miss PSG's loss to Madrid in the Champions League last Tuesday.
