Karthik's last-ball six takes India home in thriller

Earlier, after being asked to bat first, Bangladesh posted 166 for 8 on board.

Score, India 168-6 from 20 overs ( Dinesh Karthik 29*, Washington Sundar 0*; Shakib 1/28, Rubel Hossain 2/35), beat BAN by 4 wickets.

India had started their campaign with a loss against Sri Lanka but they made an extraordinary comeback with four straight wins, with every player contributing in one way or another.

The story about Bangladesh's dressing room glass door being shattered after the match against Sri Lanka still fresh in their memory, Twitter users explained the reason behind the Bangladesh batsmen's quick coming and going at the crease.

Rohit Sharma, who scored 56 off 42 balls to keep India in the hunt for the large part of the chase, surprised one and all with his decision of sending Vijay Shankar ahead of Karthik and the all-rounder appeared all at sea during his innings of 17 off 19 balls, putting India's chase in big jeopardy.

The total looked below par as the Indian spinners led by Yuzvendra Chahal strangulated the Bangladeshi batsmen.

WICKET! Dangerman Shakib Al Hasan is run-out as Vijay Shankar makes no mistake in aiming the ball at the stumps.

WICKET! Mahmudullah has been run-out for 21 runs as India get their fifth wicket.

Off-spinner Washington Sundar (one for 20) and leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal (three for 18) were brilliant in the PowerPlay but the duo of Vijay Shankar (none for 48) and Shardul Thakur (none for 45) leaked 93 runs between them on a good batting surface.

Rahman and Mushfiqur Rahim, Bangladesh's top scorer in the tournament, then stabilised the innings a little with a 35-run stand but Chahal struck once again and sent back Rahim for 9, after which last-match hero Mahmudullah joined Rahman.

Winning the toss, India opted to field first.

WICKET! Shardul Thakur has just managed to take that splendid catch as he avoids touching the boundary ropes at long-on, thereby dismissing Tamim Iqbal.

Seam bowler Jaydev Unadkat returns to India's XI, to replace Mohammed Siraj who had conceded 50 in the last match. The left-armer not only gave just one run but picked a wicket as well.
