Xiaomi has been working on an AI-powered camera for their midrange smartphones and now with the Redmi Note 5; it seems to have consummated the tech with more excellent quality that we were expecting. Xiaomi Redmi 5 was launched in China in December past year. The live streaming of the launch was available in the company's official website at 3pm on March 7. And from the design of the phone, it is expected that it would be Redmi 5.

This could be one of the few products that to be launched on March 7 in India. Along with Redmi 5 Plus, Xiaomi also launched Redmi 5 and the phone was not yet launched in India.

Xiaomi Redmi 5 will succeed the Redmi 4, which has done exceptionally well in India. Launched in China back in December, the Redmi 5 sports a 5.7-inch HD+ (720x1440) display with an 18:9 aspect ratio. It is worth mentioning that all Xiaomi products are alternatively also available on mi.com and offline Mi Home stores. The 2GB RAM of the Redmi 5 is priced at CNY 799 (approximately Rs 8,100), the 3GB RAM variant is priced at CNY 899 (approximately Rs 9,100) while the 4GB RAM variant is priced at CNY 1,299 (approximately Rs 13,200). The phone runs on Android Nougat Operating system out of the box with company-owned MIUI 9.

A 64-bit 1.5GHz Amlogic L962-H8X processor with 750MHz Mali 450 GPU with a gig of RAM on the top, the TV comes with 8 gigs of internal storage just at 1,699 yuan (roughly Rs 17,500). There's an option to expand the storage via microSD card. At the back of the phone there is a 12MP camera with LED flash and f/2.2 aperture and for selfies and video calling there is a 5MP camera on the front.
