Nicole Kidman, David E Kelley reunite for HBOs The Undoing

Now, Nicole Kidman is unveiling her next project: The Undoing, a new HBO series that reunites her with Big Little Lies scribe David E. Kelley. "Im excited and honoured to continue collaborating with HBO and David E Kelly", said Kidman in a statement.

Kidman will produce and star in the show, with Kelley adapting Jean Hanff Korelitz's novel You Should Have Known.

Kidman, who's Big Little Lies co-star Reese Witherspoon just had her Little Fires Everywhere series picked up by Hulu, commended Kelley for his creative talents, stating that he has "created another propulsive series with a fascinating, complicated female role at its center" with The Undoing.

The Undoing will star Kidman as a successful therapist whose ideal life is plunged into disarray after a violent death and her husband's disappearance. Her husband goes missing, a violent death occurs, and a "chain of bad revelations" replaces a man Grace thought she knew. All three will also be executive producers on The Undoing.

A search for a director for the miniseries is underway.

"I loved this book", said Kelley, "A character driven psychological thriller, I'm excited about the adaptation and thrilled to be able to do it with Nicole and HBO". He also wrote all seven episodes of the HBO miniseries Big Little Lies, which won an Emmy for Kidman past year in the role of abused wife Celeste Wright.

Kelley is represented by CAA and attorney Michael Gendler. Abrams' Demimonde, Jordan Peele's Lovecraft Country, True Detective, Sharp Objects, The Deuce and Here and Now, among others.
