Ranking possible Jordy Nelson landing spots: Patriots and Raiders reportedly interested

Nelson has surpassed the 1,000 receiving yard plateau four times in his career, including three straight years from 2013-2015.

It's a good bet the Packers would have moved on from Nelson whether or not they pursued - and eventually came to an agreement with - Graham on Tuesday.

"We can not thank Jordy enough for all that he has given the Green Bay Packers and our community for the past 10 years", Gutekunst said.

His numbers dipped last season - Nelson had 53 catches for 482 yards - while Rodgers played in just seven games due to injury.

New Raiders receivers coach Edgar Bennett was hired by Jon Gruden in January after spending the last 13 seasons in Green Bay. Cutting him frees up $10 million in cap space for the Packers.

Over their nine years in Green Bay together, Rodgers and Nelson connected for 65 touchdowns, more than any other quarterback-receiver duo in franchise history.

Another big name National Football League player has found a new home today as free agent tight end Jimmy Graham is expected to sign a three-year deal with the Green Bay Packers.

Nelson went down during the 2015 preseason with a torn ACL, costing him the entire year.

Both the Packers and the New Orleans Saints were believed to be the top two candidates to sign Graham.

Nelson played for Green Bay for ten seasons, racking up almost 8,000 yards with the green and gold.

An NFL scout said after Tuesday's moves that, at this point, he would pick Graham over Nelson.

Nelson took over for Donald Driver in hosting the yearly charity softball game played at Neuroscience Group Field at Fox Cities Stadium. But I am glad we don't have to see him sit on the bench like Donald Driver did in his past year, catching all of seven passes.

The New England Patriots have lost a number of key free agents so far this offseason, but help could be on the way. He bounced back for 1,257 yards and 14 touchdowns in 2016, but struggles this past season without Rodgers under center. Graham's contract will reportedly be for three years, but the dollar amount is still unknown. Graham caught 10 touchdowns in 2017, the most of any tight end in the NFL.
