Rapper Craig Mack of 'Flava In Ya Ear' Fame Dies Aged 46

Mack was one of the pioneer artists signed to the defunct Bad Boy Records by Puff Daddy in the early '90s and gave the label its first successful rap single with 'Flava In Ya Ear'. Because Craig was my rodie on tour. According to the New York Daily News, Mack died of heart failure in hospital near his home in SC on Monday, 12 March. He just reached out a couple of weeks ago for me to speak on his documentary about his life, ' he shared.

Mack's producer Alvin Toney confirmed news of his death. However, in 2017, he released a new album, "The Mack World Sessions".

Toney said he saw Mack for the final time last week during a visit to the Overcomer Ministry church he attends in Walterboro to film a documentary about the rapper, and his decision to pass on fame for a life of deep religious conviction. "He was a good friend of mine", Toney told the Daily News. "Nobody got to understand his story". He would set up & break down my turntables every night on tour.

It's a sad day in the world of Hip Hop this morning as it has been announced that the rapper Craig Mack has passed away at the age of 46. Funkmaster Flex posted a photo of Craig Mack with Biggie Smalls that included the caption, "Rest in Peace!"

He is survived by his wife and two adult children.

Mack's 1994 hit single "Flava In Ya Ear" has come to be considered a hip-hop classic, and it also appeared in a recent auto commercial as motivational music. It was something I wanted people to enjoy, but it was cut short because he was very religious and wanted to go to church'.

Despite the apparent success, Mack never released another album on Bad Boy.
