Russell Wilson Strikes Out in Yankees Spring Training Debut vs. Braves

Carroll was asked about Wilson playing in a spring training game during his media availability session Thursday morning at the National Football League scouting combine combine.

Thursday, Carroll was asked whether he was OK with Wilson getting at-bats in Yankees exhibition games.

New York Yankees infielder Russell Wilson (73) takes ground balls prior to the spring-training game against the Detroit Tigers at George M. Steinbrenner Field.

"He's not doing a great job of going with pitches away from him".

Wilson, who was acquired from the Texas Rangers on February 7, has been in spring training for the Yankees over the past few weeks.

Pete Carroll, who is the football head coach for current Yankees second baseman Russell Wilson, said he has seen enough of his quarterback's time in pinstripes to offer a critique. For the first time in his six-year career, the Seahawks missed the playoffs, finishing with an 8-8 record. There is much learning to be done between new coordinator and his QB this offseason, beginning when players report for the start of Seahawks' offseason workouts April 16. "He's going to be working out doing something, anyway".

That's what the Yankees did early last month, trading "future considerations" to the Texas Rangers for Wilson's rights. He's extraordinarily dedicated to doing everything he can to be right.

"He's playing ball, playing baseball, and I don't think there's anything wrong with that at all. So I have no problem with that".
