Sealing issue: Kejriwal holds all-party meeting to find solution

Hitting out at the BJP at a press conference at the CM's residence, Sisodia said it was unfortunate that the party's representatives did not attend the meeting called to find a solution to the sealing issue.

During the talks, AAP and Congress agreed to raise their voice in Parliament through their MPs against the drive being carried out since last December by municipal corporations in the city.

Addressing the media separately, Sisodia and Maken also attacked the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for not taking part in the meeting, despite an invitation from Kejriwal.

Jain, the adviser to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, has resigned citing personal reasons and family commitments, days after he was questioned by police in connection with the alleged assault on Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash, sources said on Tuesday. More than half a dozen policemen were deployed additionally apart from the regular security deployment outside the CM's residence for the meeting. Following their agitation, an interim relief came from the top court which stayed the sealings to review the Delhi Master Plan 2021. "We appeal to the Chief Minister to immediately meet the Monitoring Committee Members and urge them to stop the sealing being done without even serving notice, " he added.

The commercial activities in the national capital came to a standstill on Tuesday with a day long "Delhi Trade Bandh" call given by the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) against arbitrary sealing of business establishments here.

Ashutosh had also targeted Lt Governor Anil Baijal, calling him an "agent of the BJP" for not acting on a complaint about attack on Delhi minister Imran Hussain and Delhi Dialogue Commission vice-chairman Ashish Khetan, despite being provided evidence.

Later, Kejriwal also tweeted, "Had a v good meeting wid reps of Congress. BJP boycotted". Mr Tiwari who is on a state visit overseas on Tuesday had a teleconference discussion with senior Delhi BJP Office bearers and traders on the sealing issue.

"There are some issues on which we should not do party politics", he said.

After the meeting, Maken said the discussion was fruitful.

The court held the Delhi Development Authority (DDA), the state government and Centre responsible for the non-implementation of the sealing drive despite being ordered back in 2006.
