Shia LaBeouf Blames 'White Privilege' for His Arrest and Racist Rants

Shia LaBeouf dug deep in Esquire's latest cover story and revealed what drives him to do everything he does, including his decision to turn down several major movie roles. LaBeouf later said the man would go to hell "because he's a black man".

This chase for sincerity meant LaBeouf turned down roles for The Social Network, 127 Hours, and The Bourne Legacy, any of which would have made a big impact on the actor's career.

Shia LaBeouf was a blockbuster star on the rise before a series of erratic public outbursts almost derailed his career.

The 31-year-old actor claims to have been diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), which stems from hearing his mother being sexually assaulted when he was younger, and he believes that witnessing the violence against his mom triggered a lot of his own erratic behaviour. He froze, he said, and that has lived with him ever since, making him quick to get aggressive.

Kim says that the hat was gifted by LaBeouf, who can confirm at least this much: "The dude has a lot of my shit".

The Transformers star hit headlines in July (17), when he was busted for disorderly conduct, public drunkenness, and obstruction during a night out in Savannah, where he had been shooting the film The Peanut Butter Falcon. "It was me trying to absolve myself of guilt for getting arrested". Footage released by TMZ at the time shows LaBeouf bragging about his "millionaire lawyers", singling out a black officer, and saying a white officer's wife watches porn about "licking a black dick". "Zack can't not shoot straight, and bless him for it, 'cause in that moment, I needed a straight shooter who I couldn't argue with". "The truth is, in my desperation, I lost the plot".

LaBeouf acknowledges his "public outbursts" may remind people of those by famed tennis star John McEnroe, who he portrays in new movie Borg vs. McEnroe, but states, "McEnroe was a master at his rage". Some guy bumped into my mother's auto with his vehicle in a parking lot, and my head went right to "You need to avenge your mother!" "I came up to you asking for a cigarette, you dumb f-! They're not strategic. They're a struggling motherf-ker showing his a- in front of the world".

In a different version of his song "No More Parties in L.A". When I brought her backstage, he was a fucking sweetheart to her. He took all my f-ing clothes. And it just felt fair. Take everything you want.' And he did.
