Up to 7 courts, including the biggest matches of each day.

With 28 previous meetings and a 29th on the way, Venus and Serena have never played anyone else as much - Serena's next-most-played opponents are Victoria Azarenka and Maria Sharapova (21 times each) and Venus' next-most-played opponent is Lindsay Davenport (27 times).

"Obviously, I wish it was anybody else in the draw, literally anybody, but that's OK", Serena said.

"That's, you know, totally gone out of my mind", she said. She got her first win of the year against Sorana Cirstea (6-3, 6-4) on Saturday, but she couldn't have gotten a much more hard third-round draw, as she's lost three straight and five of the last six against the 23-time Grand Slam victor.

Venus ended her boycott a year later, and now they are set to meet for a place in the last 16.

Indian Wells:Serena Williams twitched the dust from a 15 month holiday from the game due to pregnancy. "Just have to go out there and see how I am and do my best". This is just her third appearance in the California desert in 17 years. "Seventeen years seems like forever ago".

"It's a huge difference to play her in the semi-finals or even the quarter-finals or a final as opposed to the third round".

In 2015 Serena returned however the tournament will always bring back tough memories for both.

Venus is enjoying a resurgence on the Tour after a string of injuries limited her playing time for several seasons. "I don't think my dad wants me to ever stop playing", the 37-year-old, seven-time Grand Slam champion said.

Serena made a decision to return in 2015, whilst Venus came back to Indian Wells in 2016. She won four of the final five games of the second set, breaking Cirstea three times to close it out.

Two decades after their first meeting on professional tour, the Williams sisters continue to be a dominant presence on the WTA circuit.
