Tomb Raider 1-3 Remasters Coming to PC

The developer Realtech VR, which was founded back in 2008 has mostly been working on games for the iOS.

Realtech VR has announced that it will release remastered versions of Tomb Raider 1, 2 and 3 on Steam.

It is a confirmed fact: Those who own the original Tomb Raider games on Steam will be gifted their respective Remastered editions, free of charge!

The new 3D Engine has been rebuilt to the latest OpenGL platform and comes with a better post system (improved lighting simulation, environmental shading, and more), and support for both Windows 7 and Windows UWP.

This past December, Square Enix teased that a new AAA Tomb Raider game will be revealed at a major event this year, and rumor has it the new game will reportedly be called Shadow of the Tomb Raider.

The new Tomb Raider movie, featuring the talented Alicia Vikander, hits the big screen in North America this week, and though hype is already building, fans of the franchise have another reason to celebrate.

Jordan Oloman is a Freelance Writer for IGN. Last but not least, the remasters will support OpenVR. Additionally, the remasters get full controller support for modern gamepads, which is awesome!

A set release date has not been announced yet by the developers, but they are saying at least that they have already finished porting the first two games and are now working on the third installment.

Luckily, there are remasters coming for each of the three games. As it stands the original Tomb Raider games are available on Steam, but they are the DOS ports of the original games, which like we said don't exactly scream hi-fidelity.
