Trey Burton to Sign 4-Year Bears Contract Worth $32 Million

Bears signed TE Trey Burton, formerly of the Eagles, to a four-year, $32 million contract. Ian Rapoport of provided the deal's financial details. Burton may only have five career starts to his name, but Week 14 last season was the flawless example of what he's capable of after filling in for the injured Ertz by catching five passes for 71 yards with two scores.

In his second season in Jacksonville in 2015, Robinson caught 80 passes for 1,400 yards, and an NFL-leading 14 touchdowns. The 26-year-old Parkey has converted 86.4 of his career FG tries in parts of four seasons with the Eagles, Browns and Dolphins. Former Jaguars wide receiver Allen Robinson, who has 202 catches for 2,848 yards and 22 touchdowns in 43 games, also intends to sign with the team, ESPN has learned. "We would have loved to have had Zach out there but he wasn't able to go, so Brent and I stepped in".

Fans around the National Football League best know him for his role in the "Philly Special" play in Super Bowl LII, where he threw a touchdown pass to quarterback Nick Foles before the end of the first half.

But the Bears want Burton for his receiving ability, not his passing ability.

It's been a steady rise for the Florida native, who signed with the Eagles as an undrafted free agent in 2014 and played a niche role in his first two years.

The undersized (6-foot-3, 235-pound) Burton projects as a "move" tight end for the Bears, where he will be much more of pass catcher than a blocker.
