Trump fires his personal assistant, John McEntee, then Trump campaign hires him

What is it with these people and alleged links to "serious financial crimes"?

McEntee was escorted from the White House and was not allowed to collect his belongings. WSJ wrote that the aide "indicated to colleagues that it was an issue in his background".

It's impossible to speculate what kind of potential financial crimes jettisoned McEntee from the White House, but they must be pretty serious if the Department of Homeland Security is running point on the investigation.

A source tells CNN's Kaitlan Collins that "McEntee was sacked because he is now under investigation by the Department of Homeland Security for serious financial crimes", although the source also emphasizes that these potential crimes are "not Trump related". A star high school quarterback, he worked at Fox News as part of their social media team before quitting to volunteer with the Trump campaign. It also comes after communications director Hope Hicks and economic advisor Gary Cohn left their posts. He was one of the president's longest serving aides and the entire family loves him. His responsibilities consisted of having markers for Trump to sign autographs, delivering messages to the residence and ensuring the clocks in the White House residence were adjusted for daylight-savings.

"It's not going to be great for morale", a White House official told The Journal about McEntee's firing.

John McEntee had served as Trump's personal assistant for three years, dating back to the early days of the 2016 presidential election, according to the Wall Street Journal.

But rather than leave the president's inner-circle in the vein of other caricatures ousted from the Trump administration-former White House staffer Omarosa Manigault was also reportedly removed from the White House by security-McEntee parlayed over to the president's 2020 campaign as a senior advisor.
